Tear Trough Filler in Manchester

Specialist filler technique to soften the under-eye hollow, reducing the appearance of dark circles and shadowing in one of the face's most delicate areas.

All treatments at Revitalised Aesthetics are carried out by Le Xu, a Registered Nurse and Independent Nurse Prescriber. Every booking begins with a 45-minute consultation to assess suitability, discuss contraindications, and obtain informed consent. Outcomes vary; no results are guaranteed.

Consultation

A 45-minute private consultation precedes every booking. We assess suitability, map the face, and agree a written plan before any treatment is confirmed.

Downtime

Most clients return to normal activity the same day. Any localised swelling or redness typically settles within 24–72 hours.

Aftercare

A review is offered at the clinically appropriate interval for each protocol, with photographs taken under standardised lighting to document progress.

Common Questions

What clients typically ask.

Answers below are summaries of widely accepted clinical practice. Your specific plan is always confirmed in consultation.

What is tear trough filler?

The tear trough is the groove that forms between the lower eyelid and the upper cheek as the ligament in this area descends with age, or is present from a younger age due to anatomy. Filler placed carefully in this zone softens the shadow and hollowing that creates the appearance of dark circles and tiredness.

Why is tear trough treatment considered complex?

The under-eye area has thin, delicate skin with a high density of blood vessels, and is in close proximity to the eye. Overfilling, wrong product choice, or incorrect placement depth can produce persistent swelling, a blue discolouration called the Tyndall effect, or nodules. This treatment is assessed carefully and is not always indicated.

Is everyone a candidate?

No. Tear trough filler is not appropriate for clients with significant lower eyelid skin laxity, fat prolapse behind the septum (puffy bags), or primarily pigmentary dark circles, which do not respond to volume replacement. A detailed assessment determines the correct recommendation.

What results can I expect?

When well indicated and correctly placed, tear trough filler can meaningfully reduce shadowing and create a smoother eyelid-to-cheek transition. Results are visible at 2 weeks and can last 9 to 18 months depending on product and metabolism.

What should I know about recovery?

The under-eye area bruises more readily than other parts of the face. Expect 5 to 14 days of bruising and swelling. Sleeping with the head elevated and avoiding heat and alcohol for 48 hours reduces severity.
