PDO Thread Lift in Manchester
Dissolvable polydioxanone threads inserted under the skin to lift sagging tissue, stimulate collagen, and redefine facial contour, without general anaesthesia or surgical recovery.
All treatments at Revitalised Aesthetics are carried out by Le Xu, a Registered Nurse and Independent Nurse Prescriber. Every booking begins with a 45-minute consultation to assess suitability, discuss contraindications, and obtain informed consent. Outcomes vary; no results are guaranteed.
A 45-minute private consultation precedes every booking. We assess suitability, map the face, and agree a written plan before any treatment is confirmed.
Most clients return to normal activity the same day. Any localised swelling or redness typically settles within 24–72 hours.
A review is offered at the clinically appropriate interval for each protocol, with photographs taken under standardised lighting to document progress.
What clients typically ask.
Answers below are summaries of widely accepted clinical practice. Your specific plan is always confirmed in consultation.
What is a PDO thread lift?
A PDO (polydioxanone) thread lift uses fine, dissolvable sutures inserted under the skin via a cannula or needle to mechanically lift sagging tissue and simultaneously stimulate collagen production around the thread. PDO is a biocompatible suture material widely used in surgical practice for decades.
What areas can be treated?
Thread lifts are commonly used to lift the mid-face, jowls, and brow, and to improve the definition of the jawline and neck. Smooth threads are also used across the face and neck to improve skin quality and firmness without a direct lifting effect.
How long do PDO thread results last?
The threads dissolve over 6 to 9 months. The collagen they stimulate continues to provide improvement for 12 to 18 months after treatment. Repeat treatment at 12 to 18 months maintains results over time.
What is the recovery like?
Swelling, bruising, and mild dimpling at insertion points are common for 5 to 10 days. Tenderness when opening the mouth wide may persist for a week. Clients are advised to avoid facial massage, sleeping on the face, and strenuous activity for 2 weeks.
Who is not a candidate?
Thread lifts are not suitable in clients with active skin infection in the treatment area, those on anticoagulant medication, clients with very thin or heavily sun-damaged skin, or those with severe skin laxity where surgical options would produce better results. Suitability is assessed at consultation.
